Remember the post Man’s best friend? Made by Yasmin Ahmad, the commercial was intended to discourage people from being cruel to dogs but you might not see it on TV anytime soon thanks to Lembaga Penapisan Filem.

Lembaga Penapisan Filem should open their ‘mind’ and should react universally upon on the animal welfare…why these touching comercial gets axed??? does not make sense at all.

I am all for showing this commercial. I cant understand the need to censor this at all. What are they possibly afraid of? That muslim people will suddenly have an urge to adopt dogs? A strange ruling indeed.
Thank god the internet actually allows us to be exposed to such creativity. I long for the day when our ruling bodies see the public as well educated people who are capable of making informed decisions. Unfortunately it may not be in my lifetime.
it’s not a problem at all.but then again still have to respect the muslim.why? because the model (boy) is muslim boy.yes it is good for the animal welfare.even in islam itself…no matter what kind of that animal,even dog or pig,we can’t abuse them.it is wrong in islam.just cannot touch n eat them.but if touched,still can wash what? (using mud water)so it shows that islam is simple rite.
I think this is a very good commercial and sends a strong message of the usefulness of pets, dogs even. It is a fact that dogs are seen as unclean. It is a fact that dogs help and aid certain special needs people. It is a fact that a particular religion does not allow for interaction with dogs, although it seems to differ from country to country. So dogs are unclean, well cleanse your own mind, open it up and see a whole new world. It is only banned for the sensibilities of one particular religious faith. I don’t see the same applied to other religions. Put it simply, why deny what is essentially a fact? Fact is dogs are better friends than some human beings. Fact is all animals are living things, clean or unclean, they should be treated with kindness and protected. That is the basic core of all religious teaching. The idea of unclean only means just that. Everything is up to interpretation. Muslim boy or not, if in real life a dog could open up the world of the boy muslim or otherwise who is suffering from autism, that dog deserves to be treated with respect. My condolence to Yasmin Ahmad who has since passed away and guess what? THe ban stays right? There can;t be any changes without diligent demands. Banned for flimsiest reasons and must be shown for the strongest reasons.
